Ultrasound imaging
IRL has developed expertise and infrastructure to enable the development of leading edge ultrasonic systems including:
- the design and fabrication of high frequency (>10MHz) ultrasonic transducers and arrays
- low temperature, very high density soldering and interconnection methods
- custom low noise interface and capture electronic systems, with high throughput DSP[?] hardware
- novel signal processing methods and finite element wave propagation analysis.
Recent work has included the use of materials based on nanotechnology to act as an acoustic waveguide coupling media.
