Our research team has designed and constructed a low cost, high-efficiency prototype system for CO2 capture, based on the reversible ability of lime to absorb CO2 to form limestone.
We have demonstrated efficiencies of greater than 98% in CO2 capture after 200 cycles in a fixed bed reactor and have now developed and trialled a high efficiency 2kW fluidised bed reactor system as a step towards larger demonstration scale technologies.
