IRL's Engineering and Applied Physics group applies its research to the areas of advanced manufacturing and ICT[?], biomedical imaging, and materials testing and polymers.
Our applications focus areas are high-value industrial and medical applications including assistive devices for mobility, physical therapy and general independence.
We are developing niche technologies that draw on our expertise in electronics and software engineering, digital signal processing, sensors/sensing, computer vision, polymers and mechanical engineering.
We work with a variety of industry partners to apply our science capability to the development of new, technology-intensive products.
